WebbThere is now strong evidence that yield potential in rice (Oryza sativa L.) is becoming limited by 'source' capacity, i.e. photosynthetic capacity or efficiency, and hence the ability to fill the large number of grain 'sinks' produced in modern varieties. One solution to this problem is to introduce a more efficient, higher capacity photosynthetic mechanism to … WebbAs a digital Agriculture scientist and crop physiologist, my primary role is promoting sustainable agriculture, the environment, and communities through inclusive digital technologies. WebbRice Phenomics Drought is one of the severe abiotic stress that affects productivity of rice, an important staple crop that is consumed all over the world. The traits responsible for enhancing or adapting drought resistance in rice plants can be selected and studied to elucidate the adaptive mechanism of rice that leads to drought tolerance. WebbThe differential proteome analysis using 2-D followed by MALDI-based identification implied the role of chitinases in drought tolerance. The information generated from computational/digital image analysis as well as biochemical studies can contribute significantly towards the developing field of rice phenomics.
